New Climate Change Summit concludes
The 27th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP27) concluded on 20 November. It brought together heads of state, ministers and negotiators, along with climate activists, mayors, civil society representatives and CEOs, to address the climate emergency.
The primary outcome on this occasion has been the decision to set up a funding mechanism to compensate the most vulnerable nations for losses and damage caused by climate disasters. It was a meagre outcome when further agreements were expected to make progress on other key issues related to the causes of global warming, especially on phasing out fossil fuels and applying stricter language on the need to limit global warming to 1.5 degrees Celsius.
In any case, the effort to tackle climate change must be sustained, and Bikai is committed to this goal. We aim to ensure that our investee companies are economically profitable while also contributing positively to the environment by devising plans and actions that contribute to its preservation and joining forces in this shared task.
